Welcome to my page.My name is Kim Lockman and I have been teaching for 18 years in NJ, NY, and MA where I have taught Physical Education, Science, Health, and Special Education. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, my first Master’s degree in Educational Administration from The college of St. Rose, My second Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, and my third Master’s in Instructional Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
This is my 8th year in the district and I like to call Hudson my home away from home. I have coached here, worked with the Hudson Hawk After School Program, volunteered at the Youth Center, trained with Mental Health, Americorp, and Catholic Charities.
Growing up I excelled in athletics, but was a terrible student. After being diagnosed with Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia and Learning Disabilities in college I got the support I needed and learned how to manage my academics, my social life, and life in general. I used this as my drive to become a teacher and bring the tools I’ve learned through the years to my classroom practices. No matter what the subject I bring a dynamic presence, embeded with cooperative educational activities. I believe any subject, especially science, can come alive with hands on activities and challenges.
Communication and trust are important me. Please feel free to contact me at any time to see what’s going on in the classroom, to check on your child’s progress, to learn anything about what we are doing or why, or if you just want to check in. [email protected]. My classroom is located in the science wing Rm S109. I will have details on how to get hooked up with my remind.com shortly. Also check out my google classroom page.
